Victorian Cope’s Tobacco Tin Sign A proper bit of Victorian attitude, this Cope’s Tobacco tin sign brings together politics, satire and a healthy dose of smoke-filled mischief. Featuring the wonderfully chaotic “House of Lords” scene (after Cruikshank’s 1825 original), it’s packed with character and detail, the sort of piece you can stand in front of for a good five minutes spotting something new each time. Printed onto tin and now nicely aged, the surface has developed that lovely crackled finish that only comes with time, no fake ageing here, just honest wear and a life well lived (quite possibly in a smoky pub or gentleman’s study). It’s one of those pieces that just works anywhere – kitchen, bar, hallway, or above a drinks cabinet – and adds a bit of personality without trying too hard. Decorative, properly British, and just a little bit cheeky. Measures 64cm x 52cm
