Antique Magnetic Blackboard   A very rare and superb original 1920s Antique Magnetic Blackboard by Wondersigns Limited of London, complete with its original magnetic lettering set and lovely worn storage box.   Originally used in shops and commercial premises for changeable displays and notices, it still works exactly as intended nearly 100 years later. The aged glass, old instruction labels and beautifully weathered magnetic letters give it that authentic industrial character  you would hope to see from a genuine working piece of early commercial signage . We particularly love the fact it still invites interaction – whether used for café menus, studio signage, kitchen notes or simply to spell out something ridiculous after a glass of wine or three.   A genuinely rare survivor that sits somewhere between decorative salvage, early advertising and functional design. Not perfect, not over-restored and all the better for it. There are multiples of each letter and surprisingly for a set of small magnetic letters this age only three individual letters are missing (C, T & W) but the set remains wonderfully complete overall.   A totally original Wondersign glazed cabinet & and almost complete set of original letters…. incredibly difficult to find, fantastic to own…   57cm (w) x 83cm (h) x 6cm (d)
